Changing Your Menstrual Cycle

Q: I have a major event coming up and it coincides with my period.  Isn't there a way I can change my cycle by changing the day I start taking my birth control pills?

Dr. Donnica:
If you have a 28-day cycle pack, keep taking your pills the way you normally do, but the cycle before the major event, skip the placebo pills ("sugar pills") and start your next pack.

Enjoy your event!
